What a fantastic day it was! After church, on September 7th, thirty two people (20 adults, 12 youth) participated in the annual ELCA work day called “God’s Work. Our Hands.” For Zion’s project,
32 volunteers ate lunch together, then drove to Wilma Helmey’s yard to “lend a hand.” After three hours of work, trees “lost” their lower limbs and loads and loads of leaves were raked up and hauled off. Everyone had a fun time and they were tired, but happy with their accomplishment. Wilma was most appreciative. Thanks to all for a job well done! Zion intends to make “God’s Work. Our Hands.” Sunday an annual event, so plan now to be a part of this good work on September 6, 2015!
