The Advent season begins Sunday, Nov.29, 2015
The symbol of Advent is the evergreen wreath – a circle that has no ending and no beginning. This represents for us eternal life. On the wreath are four candles, which reminds us that Jesus is the light of the world. Each week, one of our families will light a new candle on the wreath and explain the meaning of their candle, and lead us in prayer. One candle is lit the first week (11/29), two candles the second (12/6), three candles the third (12/13), and all four candles the fourth week (12/20). On Christmas Eve, the end of Advent, we will light all four candles plus the Christ Candle in the middle. Each week, the light grows a little brighter, reminding us that the light that is Christ grows stronger every year as we await his return on the Last Day! We invite you and your family and friends to come and experience the joy of Advent as we wait in anticipation of that glorious day!
