reformation-sundayWEAR RED !!!
Reformation Day is a high festival of the Lutheran Church year, so the color of the day is RED! This is always a meaningful worship service for us who continue in the footsteps of the great reformers of the Church. The ELCA is known as the Church that is Always Being Made New, and as such, is always listening to the Spirit, always open to being re-formed. We hope you will come and join in our joy as we thank God for his Church, and celebrate our heritage as Lutherans!

142nd Anniversary!

anniversaryEach September, we gather with family and friends of Zion’s congregation to celebrate the blessings God has bestowed upon us. As is our tradition, we will begin our celebration with worship at 11:00 a.m. on Sept 14th. Our service will be a time to thank God for the many years of service that this church has provided to the community and beyond. It will be a time to pray, sing, hear God’s word and share in the Lord’s Supper. After worship, we will continue the celebration in the Fellowship Hall with a buffet luncheon and a short program by Pastor Barb. Please join us for a special day of remembrance as we rejoice in the past and look forward to an exciting grace filled future.

“God’s work. Our hands. Sunday”
September 7, 2014

On Sunday, September 7th, Zion will join nearly 10,000 congregations of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America in a special day of service. We will put our faith into action by
serving and sharing God’s love. We will be
wearing our official “God’s work. Our hands.”
t-shirts with Zion’s name on the back. Order forms are available in the entrance of the church. The deadline for ordering is August 10th.
On Sunday, September 7th, everyone is asked to wear their Zion shirt to worship and bring a sack lunch to eat following worship. We will be helping an elderly lady in our community with some much needed yard work. The work will involve mowing, raking, trimming, weed eating, picking up sticks, etc. There will be plenty of work for all ages and abilities. Please bring any yard work tools you have, wear gloves and closed toed shoes for this project. Mark your calendars and join your Zion family for this special day of service!
