2018 Vacation Bible School Wild Ride Down Splash Canyon!!

Thanks to all who helped make VBS a wonderful experience for all who attended. A total of 65 were enrolled: 35 children, 12 LYO helpers and 18 adults.

The children learned about God’s Promises to us. They learned the best Promise was sending Jesus to be our Savior. They learned that God is always with us. Sir Luther and Eddy the Otter were our guides down the River.

The kids loved the music this year and they learned sign language for all of the songs. They are really quick learners and did an awesome job.

A very special thanks to the Middle and High School students who stayed on site and helped. We couldn’t have done it without them. Every one of them worked hard and made our VBS a success. Our church can be very proud of our young people.

Our Mission this year was Manna House. Manna House provides food and a thrift store for the needy. We collected $217.00 and a raft full of 26 canned goods as well as a random donation for $50.00 .Thanks to everyone for your generous support.

Friday was Water Day. What a fun day! That evening we had a hotdog supper with the VBS closing program following.

Thanks to everyone who helped plan, set-up, volunteered, assisted with the hotdog supper and closing program. A special thanks to those who stayed and helped with clean-up afterwards.

Adventures on Promise Island God’s Lifesaving Love and Promises Are Forever!

We had 121 children and 31 adults join Kamalei (Abby Hutcheson), Hunter (Christian HeidtHarris), Madi (Jordan Becker), and Cooper the Dog (Anna Lee HeidtHarris) for 5 adventure-filled days on Promise Island learning about God’s lifesaving love and His amazing promises to us!

From adult and youth volunteers to nursery children, all experienced fun, learning opportunities. We offered classes for ages 4-14, and  special activities for nursery children. Through song and Bible stories, we learned that God promises us: “I Am With You,” “I Care About You,” “I Give You What You Need,” “I Will Save You,” and “I Will Answer You.”

Each day we enjoyed fun theme-related crafts, games, and snacks. We celebrated all of God’s promises with a special Water Day on Friday. The children (and adults) learned that God’s promises and love are forever!

On Friday night, we had a special island sendoff complete with a  hotdog and hamburger supper and a special viewing of Chipwrecked” on the big screen in Zion Park. At Friday night’s closing celebration, all of the Promise Island adventurers shared God’s lifesaving love and amazing promises with family and friends through song, prayer, skit, and slideshow. On Sunday, June 24, the Promise Island adventurers shared their favorite music during the 11:00AM worship.

We are sharing God’s promises and love with our 2012 VBS  sponsored ministry: Military Care Packages for the Army 603rd Unit out of Hunter Army Airfield. The kids made awesome cards,  collected $312, and several items (hard candy, black pens, beef jerky, sunflower seeds, ramen noodles, crossword puzzles, Sudoku, word searches, popcorn, Pringles, Q-tips, eye drops, moist wipes, toothpaste/brush, etc.) for the Military Care Packages.

The VBS directors want to thank all who selflessly gave their time and talents, donated goods or money, and supported VBS with prayers. It took each and every one of you to make this year’s VBS such a success!
